REflection Essay on your future: Prompt and Outline



•Thesis: If one is to succeed in education, career, or finances, planning ahead will help you achieve these goals….however, personal problems and obstacles can keep you from achieving your goals. (USE specific ‘evidence’ from your worksheets to support your statements - at least 3 per paragraph).
Intro: What were your ideas about planning for the future before you wrote your financial plan? How has your attitude or knowledge changed or not changed, by answering the financial plan questions?
•What are you education goals and how will you reach them? Include details including college or technical training, costs, loans, graduate school, etc.
•What are your career goals? What will you need to do to reach these goals? Include education, training, specific area of interest, etc. Make a timeline predicting important events to reach your goals in the next 5 years.
•What kind of lifestyle would you like to have in 5 years? Describe it in detail. Include all information in the packet: rent/own home, insurance costs, costs of furnishing an apt. or home, automobile costs, etc.
4. Predict whether you will reach these objective/goals.
What obstacles do you have in achieving specific goals? How will you overcome them?
What are your strengths and weaknesses that will influence whether you achieve your goals? Be specific.
