Final Project Information/rubric

Follow all directions in International Trade #1
Debate Free Trade vs. Tariffs
  1. Read, answer questions 1-7, to be turned in – 30 points
  2. Create a powerpoint. Slide for each and a side by side comparison; use this to guide your ‘debate’. (30 points)
  3. Split team into two sides.
  4. Conduct debate; it must use specific arguments - FACTS, not opinions that I can recognize as part of the reading, etc. (30 points)
  5. The class will vote on which side ‘won’.
  6. Team participation (10 points)
SIGN UP ON DAY BY DAY CALENDAR: People in danger of failing
Must present before Friday, June 13th—Thursday or Friday

PASSING STUDENTS MAY PRESENT Monday or Tuesday

#2 Interviews with individuals in a Latin American Country
Include examples of how Free Trade or Tariffs affect companies and people in other countries (such as Latin America)—50 points
  1. Answer questions 1-5; turn in and include information in debate (20 points)
  2. Effectively integrate Stories of all individual and how trade impacts their lives, pro and con (20 points)
Note: Presentation will be graded out of 100 points, stated by Steinberg on June 6, 2008 at 2nd period.

NO LATE WORK, WE WILL BE DOING FINAL PROJECT!!

Honors Economics Final Projects I and II (Draft FYI)
200 points (100 preparation; 100 presentation)

You will be working with a team of four on two of the following topics.
All teams will complete and present the following as a PowerPoint presentation.
Team presentation to CEO: "Financing a New Factory in a Foreign Nation."
There are five countries to choose from. Only two teams present on a single country.

You may choose to work with a team of 2-4 for your second project.

1. History of International Trade: Debate
2. Pros and Cons of Free Trade: Graphic presentation
3. “As the World Economy Turns”: Theatrical presentation

You will have three days to work on your project. We will present the following two days.

Each project requires you address a task. The more accurately you address this task and support decisions based on data/information, the higher your point total. You will follow the directions and complete all questions on the first page using the Resource Cards. Repeat for Final Project II.
